The wit and wisdom of spam

IMG_1024

There have been many weird and wonderful discoveries made in the process of blogging, but few have created as many belly laughs from me as the spam messages.

“As I situate holder I consider the gratify substance at this point is rattling fantastic, appreciate it for your powerfully work…” or even: “Someone necessarily lend a hand to make critically posts I would state”.  My personal favourite  involves a long-winded story about how my words helped a child finish their homework assignment due to the in-depth research that features on this factual blog. If only.

Clearly created by programs and drawn from the same pool of random words, I am still surprised at how many read the same or nearly the same on car insurance, getting a proper credit check and karaoke-related products. Let’s not forget this is a blog about fiction and writing.  Honestly people.

Things I’ve learned from spam: good help is hard to find, cheap handbags are everywhere and there is a dark art to generating a comment congratulating someone for such a brave argument, but without mentioning any details of said piece of genius.  Seriously.

But as I’ve learnt interpretation is everything.  The post that generated spam on everything from SEO, PHP, Nike ladies shoes, organic coffee, mortgage advice, to cheap designer handbags and programming? A black and white picture of last year’s Christmas tree decorations that sits within a post about the festive season.

I’m sure I’m not the only blogger hit with funny to read spam messages.  What is the worst bit of spam you ever read?  Or did you come across something so outrageously awful it was almost good? Let me know in the comments section below.

This may seem silly, but I’m often jealous of other people’s spam! I don’t remember the last time I received an interesting spam comment, so I have to live vivaciously through people who do, haha.

    Spam comments are hilarious.

I think it may be the spammer’s Bible.
